EPF Online is available since a long time ago. Although previously all facilities like EPF Balance, EPF status, EPF withdrawal facilities are available online with few states online and for all the beneficiaries of other states and regions they have to visit EPF office manually. But now many More states are starting the facilities online very soon. In a very short time you would be able to check your EPF status and EPF balance online for all states.
To check your EPF balance online one has to submit 3 mandatory details Establishment Code, Establishment Extension and Employee Code. All these three codes are present in your EPF number. We are providing you with an example to make you understand it better.
If your EPF number is AB/CD/123Z/456. In this Example 123 is your Establishment Code, Z is your Establishment Extension and 456 is your Employee Code.
Note: If your Establishment is a single unit then there is no Establishment Extension and you don’t need to fill it.
Now we are providing you with a list of website links to check your EPF status online for different States.

In July 2011 EPF office has launched a single website to check your EPF status. At the moment this link is applicable to only few branches. This facility will be increased to more EPF offices soon. To know your EPF India status online just follow the following directions.
1. Visit the website https://epf-india.co.in/epf-balance/
2. Select the EPF organization branch which maintain your account.
3. Fill up form details Establishment Code, Establishment Extension and Employee Code.
4. If there is no Establishment Extension leave the extension field blank.
5. Enter your name and mobile number.
6. The mobile number you will provide will be recorded in your details against your PF Employee Code.
7. After filling up the form Submit it. After EPFO Organization got successful submission of above information, the details will be sent through SMS to the given mobile number. EpfIndia will send you SMS regarding the details on the mobile number you registered. If you get puzzled somewhere, below video and image will help you to see EPF Online.

From 1st July onwards EPF beneficiaries can transfer their EPF account from one establishment to another online without much hassle. EPFO is working on last stages of this facility to activate.
Online EPF Transfer
Transfer of EPF account from one employer to another had been a big pain for EPF members as there was no transparency in the system and people had to wait for many months and sometimes even years to get their Employee Provident Fund transferred to new employer. This pain and agony make them leave the case as it is as they have no help and no one to ask for help in their EPF status and transfer of funds. Because of this people stop tracking their account and many cases kept hanging for years.
Online EPF withdrawal
EPF withdrawal had been a big problem and took a long time. Sometimes even the purpose for which EPF was withdrawn had been finished for which funds were withdrawn. Like someone give application for EPF withdrawal for the marriage of son/daughter but the withdrawal took so much time that the marriage was over and the beneficiary got money after a long delay. So this had been a big pain and beneficiaries cannot depend on their hard earned money in the time of need.
Online Tracking of EPF Transfer
With the start of online EPF transfer facility you will be able to track your EPF status online. You can easily know the process, and know your transfer status.
Unique Permanent EPF account number for all EPF beneficiaries
There is a proposal of allocating unique EPF account number to all EPF account holders within 1 to 2 years. This same account number will work even if they change the employer. In case of change of job there will not be any problem in EPF contribution as the employer will deposit the money in same EPF account number. It will also ease the transfer and withdrawal process of EPF.
Process of Withdrawal and Transfer
Whenever you will apply for transfer or withdrawal of EPF fund EPFO will do all verification with your current as well as previous employer. All the instructions regarding the verification and other process will be cleared once the system is started.
You can Apply for EPF Transfer Online but can’t withdraw online.. Thanks..
