Employee’s Provident Fund (EPF) has always proved to be a nightmare for most employees across the country. Simply the thought of having to go through so many legal procedures and complicated venues often causes people to give up on the idea from the very beginning. However, the Indian Government has actively opted to try and ease the pain of the working-class, by allowing them to access their PF accounts with lesser problems. By the latest estimates, inactive PF accounts currently hold close to 27,000 crore rupees lying around. Contrast this with the common worker, many of whom suffer from a limitation of funds when it comes to their own expenses.

The EPFO or the Employee’s Provident Fund Organization has now set up a helpline in order to ease the access of people to their own money. Many people have actually given up on their own provident funds, simply resigning themselves to the fact that they have to pay a part of their salary to it and then not getting to access it later on when it is required. PF earns interest without tax and is completely without risk, and gives returns after being adjusted for inflation. The help desk provides all the information that can be required, and also helps in the tracking of old accounts. It is quite common that since people give up on their accounts, they lose track of the number and everything in between. Simply place a call to the helpdesk, and ask all the questions that need answering.

For those who have no idea about their accounts anymore at all, they can also wish to visit the EPF website, which has all the tools required to track down your inactive account. The very first page asks for some basic details, which allows the organization to track down the employer whose PF account you originally held. Once it has been located, they get in touch almost instantaneously, and then help you relocate the funds. Options include transferring the money to a new PF account of the current employers, or withdraw it in your own name. This is extremely helpful, since people might just be unemployed or in between jobs. For the withdrawal of the funds, Form 19 is available for the working people. Simply get your hands on the form, and then fill it up before submitting it to the previous employer whose PF account holds the amount accumulated in your name. After that, it’s simply a matter of another month before the money is made accessible to you.

Finally, people might think it’s simple to let the money accumulate more interest, but the new legislation now terminates inactive accounts if left for over 3 years. This provides the Government with the money instead. In order to prevent such issues, simply head over to the help desk, get all the information required, and get the process of obtaining access to your money underway. The Government has provided all the tools required, and it is up to you to make use of them.

    Also, i have updated my KYC details (Aadhar and Bank Account details) but the same is not been approved my the Employer.

    I worked with Maharashtra Seamless Ltd from 02nd June 2008 to 31st May 2012 after which i have left the job and doing a freelance estate agent work.

    I, Chinmoy Das Previous Employee of FIRSTSOURCE SOLUTIONS LIMITED. The Company Head Office is at Maharashtra. and we were working on Kolkata.

    My PF account Number is : MH/BAN/46430/24438.

    My PF account is now an inoperative account. Currently I have submitted all the relevant documents to withdraw my PF amount to my previous employer on 5th of May 2016. My previous employer had told me that with in 90 days of time my PF amount will be transferred to my bank account which i have provided to them.

    2 months have been over and i do not have any information regarding the same. i have also submitted a request through Govt. inoperative account help desk portal.
    Can you please give me some information whether i got my PF amount or not and how long it will take?

      No records found in online database for your claim form submission! It simply means either you are telling wrong PF A/c No or your claim forms still haven’t been submitted to PF Office. Where did you submit them? Do you have Acknowledgement Slip?

        Hello,
        I have submitted all the documents to my previous employer HR department on 5th May 2016.

        In my Pay Slip the PF number mentioned is : MH/46430/24438.

        After submitting all the documents I have sent a mail to my previous employer HR to know how much time it will take. and they replied the same mail that they have forwarded the documents to the concerned office and the entire process will take 7-8 months time and i have to wait till that time.

        This is the only Acknowledgement (the reply mail from HR) i have so far.

        I have also generated an UAN Number against my PF number.

          It does not take so much time. Number mentioned in Pay Slip isn’t necessarily your PF Number. Ask your HR for Acknowledgement.

    Hi Madam,
    I was working in HSBC company in Hyderabad location in 2008. I left the company in 2008 itself. I have submitted the PF amount withdraw from in 2008 in HSBS company, Hyderabad. After that I got the mail from HSBS compay saying that ‘it is in progress’. But still I didn’t get the money.
    So my concern is –
    1) How to track or check my status of that PF amount withdraw from,which I did in 2008 in HSBS company.
    2) How to withdraw my PF amount (PF No. is MH/34510/7684) of HSBC company.

    Good evening sonia Sarma madam, as per my queries on behalf of my spouse, Shibani shil Paul with her employment at Pecon Infotech Limited frm 2010-2012 belongs PF a/c no. JL/SLG /50295/48 till date couldn’t settled as well as concerned zone pf office said this a/c no transfered to the change of employer, from 2012 Tulip Telecom Ltd in this a/c no. DS/NHP / 17113/2340, but as per duration of work at Pecon balance amount couldn’t be match with regular basis deduction of pf contribution . I think this information could be easier to understand my problem & also be way to solve it, await your reply. Thanks .

      When RPFC Siliguri has told you that your account has been transferred to RPFC Delhi and you already got balance of Delhi account than why you are thinking that balance is low?m If you are not satisfied please contact RPFC Delhi! Thanks..

Please check by any alternative process & inform as early as possible. Next one match with organisation name & please again search by the name of Shibani Shil Paul.                 Good evening madam, thanks a lot for your good help about account of Life Pharmaceutical pvt Ltd, already got the SMS of upto date balance of that said account . But the thing is that for the account no-wb/slg/50295/48 against the concern both the name (same person) which mention earlier to you, employee of Pecon Infotech Limited at the time of final settlement in last year 2014 concern PF office at Siliguri, West Bengal tell me the account already settled, at that time I have tell that office person with out submitting full form of epf account settlement with signature of employee & attached signature of employer authorised person how is it possible to settled that account. Thereafter concern epf office person at siliguri, westbengal finally tell me that account transfer to Delhi region epf office with account no.- DS/NHP/17113/2340 of Tulip Telecom Ltd. against the name of Shibani Shil Paul/Shibani Shil. Mam please need your help to finalised the account with present current epf balance , if you got the account status as early as possible please inform a/c blanc SMS at this- 9641893184 no i will be thankful to you with Regards, Ashish

                    Already got the balance SMS of DS/NHP/17113/2340 but if the a/c no.-JL/SLG/50295/48 transfer in to that DS/NHP/17113/2340 a/c no. , balance amount couldn’t show as per working as a employee with that organisation (Pecon Infotech Limited, with a/c no-JL/SLG/50295/48)since 2010-2012, after that from 2012-2013 working with Tulip Telecom Ltd., with a/c no-DS/NHP/17113/2340.Please help me with this problematic situation, &what should i do for get my money on behalf of my employment with Pecon .                       If you already got balance of Delhi account number than why are you writing here to get the balance again? You yourself has made it so confusing. I just read your all messages and can’t understand your situation. Can you please write exactly what is the problem you are facing now? Why you want to withdraw money from Pecon while your conversation shows this account belongs to Ms Shibani. You yourself said Pecon account has been transferred to Delhi, now you are saying it is not. Please clarify whole situation in detail.

              When claim forms are not attested by employer, it can take up to 2 months to clear that. Because in that case PF Office appoint an Enforcement Officer to visit the establishment and get those forms verified.

                i have one doubt ,whether the enforcement officer investigate the employer alone or both side?
                Bcz during my re-leaving from the concern i did some problem with the employer for my re-leaving so i worked my notice period and send self re-leaving letter to my employer and re-leaved from the concern.so that i ask the above question.pls help.
