EPFO has got the Award for the “innovative use of technology in e-governance”. During the implementation of UAN programme more than six crore UAN have been allotted to EPF members. Nearly 2.25 crore UAN have been activated by EPF members. Through the mobile numbers of activated UANs, the EPF members are provided various transaction alerts and other facilities. The missed call service has been used more than one crore times by EPF members since its launch on 17.09.2015 to access their PF balance and other details. Further, EPFO’s mobile app has been downloaded 2.72 lac times since being launched on 17.09.2015. The KYC details of the members have also been seeded to UAN database of EPF members to directly identify them without employer’s intervention. More than 2.12 Crore Bank Accounts, 92 Lakh PAN and 77 Lakh Aadhaar Number have been seeded in UAN database of EPF members. The portability of the accounts have been made easy by identification of members through their KYC’s seeded by employers riding on a functional Online Transfer Claim Portal (OTCP). EPFO has come closer to its stakeholders with launch of its Facebook and Twitter account. Help desk (1800118005) facility has also been started for prompt redressal of grievances.
