Now You can submit your EPF claim settlement online without intervention of employer and EPF employees. You should have a KYC verified UAN account and registered and active mobile number. Your UAN account must have your Bank account details to submit a PF claim online.
With an overview to make EPF services more user friendly EPFO is making many changes in their working platform. The Claim submission process has been improved a lot. The process was earlier mired in paperwork and delay. This comes soon after EPFO introduced a composite claim form for submitting withdrawal requests, and did away with the need to submit supporting documents and certificates for partial withdrawals.
Requirements before submitting Provident Fund Claim online
You have to confirm the following things before submitting online claim at EPFO
- An activated UAN (Universal Account Number)
- Make sure that mobile number you have registered with UAN is fully operational
- Link your UAN account with Adhhaar Number and Bank account details in which your funds will be transferred
- If your EPF account is not 5 years old you have to give your PAN details also.
You can submit EPF claim online by using Adhaar composite claim form. The online form is already filled with your basic details and can be accessible from your UAN account at UAN portal. You can select type of withdrawal you need.
Which claim Forms to be Used?
The following forms are to be used by EPFO member or employees to submit claim online from members interface directly.
- PF Final Settlement (Form19)
- Pension Withdrawal Benefit (Form10-C)
- PF Part Withdrawal (Form31)
Mandatory conditions for applying for PF Claim Online
- You have to provide the date of joining and leaving (last date of employment). All these details are available in EPFO database.
- While applying for final settlement claim you should not be working at the time of claim submission according to Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.
- A claim for final settlement can only be submitted only after 2 months of completing employment.
Additional conditions for applying for EPF Pension Withdrawal Online
For pension withdrawal, your total period of service should be more than 6 months and less than 9.5 years along with all other conditions which apply for final claim settlement.
Conditions for applying for PF Partial Claim Online
You have to provide your date of joining which is available in the EPFO database.
After submitting the type of claim you are opting for, you have to authenticate your withdrawal with OTP received on your mobile from UIDAI. You will receive this OTP on mobile number registered with UID and Adhaar number.
Are any Special documents required for EPF Part withdrawal?
In case of partial EPF withdrawal no extra documents are required as applying for withdrawal will be treated as declaration from member for applying for claim.
Can I get withdrawal in any other bank account other than registered with UAN?
The EPFO member can get claim only in the bank account registered with UAN and shown in UAN interface of employee. If for any reason like account closure etc. you want the claim proceeds to come in another bank account don’t apply online for claim, rather go for physical process of claim submission through your employer and change the bank details changed first.
My Adhaar number is not ready Can I Apply Online
The online PF claim facility is not available for those members who do not have Adhaar Number seeded in UAN. If you do not have Ahaar Number you have to submit your claim physically and have to get your form certified by employer.

i have applied for transfer of EPF from my previous company to present company. it was settled two years back. but after generation of UAN when i downloaded UAN PASS BOOK then i found that pension fund from my previous company not shown in my pass book. then what should i do for transferring pension fund.
i was employee of one private company. but after sometime working i left the job by resigning . but as settlement process was taking more time so i left the company without any clearance now i am working in abroad. so i would not be able to go there for getting clearance so if i submit pf withdrawal form at any pf office,then can i get it ?

Submit relevant Claim Forms duly attested by your ex-employer. No need for attestation if you have your UAN activated and linked to Bank Account & Aadhaar Card.
Is your service period shown from previous employer? Because Pension fund is not transferred, only service details transferred. Because pension is calculated on length of service..
