Both Employer and Employee contribute towards Employees Provident Fund. Your EPF Balance consists of contribution of Employer, Employee and interest accrued every year on available balance. This interest is decided by government and Central Board and then added to EPF balance of all beneficiaries.
EPF balance can be accessed from all PF Regional Offices. This website has list of all the regional offices. The EPF India website does not provide link to know the EPF balance update but some regional websites provide such facility. To know Employee Provident Fund Balance, you have to visit the Regional Office link. So you can know your EPF Balance from the website which provides such link otherwise you have to visit Concerned PF Office and submit form for it manually.
Access the list of Regional Provident Fund Offices and Websites at this site. Now visit your regional office link and check if your state website provides such service. If yes then you have to follow following steps to check your EPF Balance Online.
1. Visit the online tool below and click “Click here to know the balance“.
2. Choose the EPF Office and Region from where your firm is registered.
3. Enter the establishment code and establishment extension code if any and employee account number.
4. Enter your Name and Mobile Number
5. Check on “I Agree” and click submit to find balance.
If you have filled all details properly you will get your the EPF account balance. Government has not laid down any rules for EPF organization to provide you with EPF balance, nor there is any prescribed format. EPFO sends Annual Account Statement to the Employee at their working address every year, so one can calculate on the basis of that statement also.
Some regional offices like EPF Kerala are providing all Value Added Services online to its beneficiaries. Also, get PF Settlement Forms for free!
Now a new service is launched and one can know EPF balance directly from below Online Tool!
If your State is not providing you with online EPF enquiry you have to visit EPF office manually submit form there and get all information about EPF Balance. This procedure normally takes 1 month. You can check your EPF Balance below:

Who told you PF Statements can be send to your e-mail? PF Statements are sent annually to your Employer. Check with them. However if you with to check balance, you can use above tool.
I am not sure about my PF number, i tried remembering and i found it somewhere written is DL/23256/145 (old PF number).
Appreciate if you could check and let me know the new PF number.

I worked for HCL for 26 months from 4th May 2006 to july 2008. I applied for PF in Oct 2014 and stil not gt my amount. I had to visit HCL to check the status and they told me i already got the amount in 2009 which is 8.5k. which I dint got and neither I applied. My PF amount which they use to deduct was 672 and if we calcute it comes around 36000 for 27 months and inspite of visiting 5 times, they could not resolve the issue. My PF number is HR/5572/106507. Pension no Hr/5572/47800. My employee code is 40146777 and as per them they have already transfered the amount and when asked for the details of the account number they said they wil have to check with PF office and til nowI have not got any response. I want to file case in consumer court. they are not picking my phone, Reception female transfer the cal and they dint pick the cal and provided me the wrong email id so that we cant even mail and When i visit and meet the concerned lady ….she always says that she wil get back to me on mail which i dint got till now, pls help me and know my PF amount
Hi Sheetal! First of all, your PF and EPS (Pension) Numbers are incomplete to help..
2. 672 x 27 = 18144 not 36000. If you are doubling this amount due to contribution from employer than I must tell you that major portion of that amount goes to EPS not PF. And you’ll get both amount separately.
3. If you want to file case in Consumer Court than what’s the problem? Who is not Picking phone?
4. Have you ever visited PF Office with your concern?
