Both Employer and Employee contribute towards Employees Provident Fund. Your EPF Balance consists of contribution of Employer, Employee and interest accrued every year on available balance. This interest is decided by government and Central Board and then added to EPF balance of all beneficiaries.
EPF balance can be accessed from all PF Regional Offices. This website has list of all the regional offices. The EPF India website does not provide link to know the EPF balance update but some regional websites provide such facility. To know Employee Provident Fund Balance, you have to visit the Regional Office link. So you can know your EPF Balance from the website which provides such link otherwise you have to visit Concerned PF Office and submit form for it manually.
Access the list of Regional Provident Fund Offices and Websites at this site. Now visit your regional office link and check if your state website provides such service. If yes then you have to follow following steps to check your EPF Balance Online.
1. Visit the online tool below and click “Click here to know the balance“.
2. Choose the EPF Office and Region from where your firm is registered.
3. Enter the establishment code and establishment extension code if any and employee account number.
4. Enter your Name and Mobile Number
5. Check on “I Agree” and click submit to find balance.
If you have filled all details properly you will get your the EPF account balance. Government has not laid down any rules for EPF organization to provide you with EPF balance, nor there is any prescribed format. EPFO sends Annual Account Statement to the Employee at their working address every year, so one can calculate on the basis of that statement also.
Some regional offices like EPF Kerala are providing all Value Added Services online to its beneficiaries. Also, get PF Settlement Forms for free!
Now a new service is launched and one can know EPF balance directly from below Online Tool!
If your State is not providing you with online EPF enquiry you have to visit EPF office manually submit form there and get all information about EPF Balance. This procedure normally takes 1 month. You can check your EPF Balance below:

I used to work with Oracle and my PF Account No. BG/BNG/0042357/000/0026957. When I asked for claim I received a letter from PF Office that the amount is transferred to my then existing Prospance PF Account No. PY/BOM/61089/11 on 24th Oct, 2013. I withdrew the amount from this account in March 2014. But I got back only the amount which I saved during my Prospance days.
I would like to know the amount Rs. 169860 which was transferred from account no. BG/BNG/0042357/000/0026957 is in which account and how I can withdrew it. I approached back Prospance for this, they said that the account is closed and they cannot help me further. Please look into this matter and let me know as soon as possible.

Hi Anupam, you should have done this exercise before applying for your PF. I need to understand few things first.
1. How did you asked for claim? In what manner? By submitting Claim forms?
2. How did PF Office itself knows that than you were working in M/s Prospance?
3. You got a letter or Annexure-k from RPFC? Do you still got that said letter?

I’ve transferred the Old Account No: BGBNG00238020000002414 to BGBNG00238020000002905 on 11th June 2014 and the status was “Your claim has been settled and credited to new account.”
But, When i checked in the Account No: BGBNG00238020000002905 no amount has been transferred and hence as per the current company comments/suggestion have submitted the same old account number to Current Account No: KRTVM00165030000008144 and now the status is showing as “Claim Form 13 for Transfer to New Account Number: AGAINST Old Member Account has been rejected. Rejection letter is under dispatch/ dispatched to address in your claim.”
Please let me know how can I check the old account transferred details in the UAN Portal as currently I cannot see the Old Account No: BGBNG00238020000002414 amount in either the two account numbers BGBNG00238020000002905 / KRTVM00165030000008144
If Transfer was done on 11th June 2014 that means it’ll show after accounts of financial year 2014-15 will be updated. Please mind that EPF Orgn is not a bank.
