Both Employer and Employee contribute towards Employees Provident Fund. Your EPF Balance consists of contribution of Employer, Employee and interest accrued every year on available balance. This interest is decided by government and Central Board and then added to EPF balance of all beneficiaries.
EPF balance can be accessed from all PF Regional Offices. This website has list of all the regional offices. The EPF India website does not provide link to know the EPF balance update but some regional websites provide such facility. To know Employee Provident Fund Balance, you have to visit the Regional Office link. So you can know your EPF Balance from the website which provides such link otherwise you have to visit Concerned PF Office and submit form for it manually.
Access the list of Regional Provident Fund Offices and Websites at this site. Now visit your regional office link and check if your state website provides such service. If yes then you have to follow following steps to check your EPF Balance Online.
1. Visit the online tool below and click “Click here to know the balance“.
2. Choose the EPF Office and Region from where your firm is registered.
3. Enter the establishment code and establishment extension code if any and employee account number.
4. Enter your Name and Mobile Number
5. Check on “I Agree” and click submit to find balance.
If you have filled all details properly you will get your the EPF account balance. Government has not laid down any rules for EPF organization to provide you with EPF balance, nor there is any prescribed format. EPFO sends Annual Account Statement to the Employee at their working address every year, so one can calculate on the basis of that statement also.
Some regional offices like EPF Kerala are providing all Value Added Services online to its beneficiaries. Also, get PF Settlement Forms for free!
Now a new service is launched and one can know EPF balance directly from below Online Tool!
If your State is not providing you with online EPF enquiry you have to visit EPF office manually submit form there and get all information about EPF Balance. This procedure normally takes 1 month. You can check your EPF Balance below:

This is Sridhar, currently employed in Broadcom.
My previous employer is Intel.
Intel has enabled a UAN and I can see my EPF status only related to Intel PF number for the Intel UAN.
In Broadcom I am given new PF number for which broadcom is unable to activate UAN and they are getting error as “incomplete” , they have asked me to contact EPFO directly.

Case of two UAN Allotment
This could be because of not filing of Date of Exit by your previous employer in ECR filing and/or you have applied for transfer of service in your current establishment. In such a case, you are suggested to immediately report the matter either to your employer or through email to uanepf@epfindia.gov.in by mentioning your current and previous UANs. After due verification the previous UAN allotted to you will be blocked and Current UAN will be active. Later you will be required to submit your Claim to get transfer of service and fund to new UAN.
You have to contact PF Office to get balance from inoperative account. The process to withdraw from inoperative accounts has been explained here! Thanks!

It is not possible as either the old account has been transferred or if not than it must be in-operative. In either case system will not give any balance.

I used to work for an Indian Company into retail. Now the Same company has handed over its business to another Group (Company). I have called the HR Team to know the process for PF Withdrawal and the reply I have got made me sad. The HR Girl informed me that company is in the process of handing over the business so they can’t take my application. Also she said that I need to wait till September month and then they will process my application which will take another 2-3 Months to get the PF credited into my account.
My question is that if an Employer holds a right to do the same or they are bound to get my pf processed irrespective of what is happening within the Company ??
The employer is bound to submit your claim form to PF Office after 60 days of your resignation / termination.

Yes, EPS is refundable if your service is of minimum 6 months or more, less than 6 months service is forfeited. Under EPS’ 95 (Pension Scheme), If your total service is less than 10 years and you decide to withdraw EPS 95 Funds than you will get a lump-sum payment that is calculated on your last salary drawn and total length of service. If your service is more than 10 years than you are eligible for monthly pension and than also deciding factors are total length of service before and after 16.11.95 and salary drawn in last 12 months. If there is no interest on pension fund then what is the formula to calculate pension fund if I withdraw the same after leaving the company before 10 years or after 10 years?
I told you basic things about calculation. Formula is not so simple to be mentioned here. And I bet that 99% employees of even PF Office can calculate it. It is not done manually and many factors involved.
