Both Employer and Employee contribute towards Employees Provident Fund. Your EPF Balance consists of contribution of Employer, Employee and interest accrued every year on available balance. This interest is decided by government and Central Board and then added to EPF balance of all beneficiaries.
EPF balance can be accessed from all PF Regional Offices. This website has list of all the regional offices. The EPF India website does not provide link to know the EPF balance update but some regional websites provide such facility. To know Employee Provident Fund Balance, you have to visit the Regional Office link. So you can know your EPF Balance from the website which provides such link otherwise you have to visit Concerned PF Office and submit form for it manually.
Access the list of Regional Provident Fund Offices and Websites at this site. Now visit your regional office link and check if your state website provides such service. If yes then you have to follow following steps to check your EPF Balance Online.
1. Visit the online tool below and click “Click here to know the balance“.
2. Choose the EPF Office and Region from where your firm is registered.
3. Enter the establishment code and establishment extension code if any and employee account number.
4. Enter your Name and Mobile Number
5. Check on “I Agree” and click submit to find balance.
If you have filled all details properly you will get your the EPF account balance. Government has not laid down any rules for EPF organization to provide you with EPF balance, nor there is any prescribed format. EPFO sends Annual Account Statement to the Employee at their working address every year, so one can calculate on the basis of that statement also.
Some regional offices like EPF Kerala are providing all Value Added Services online to its beneficiaries. Also, get PF Settlement Forms for free!
Now a new service is launched and one can know EPF balance directly from below Online Tool!
If your State is not providing you with online EPF enquiry you have to visit EPF office manually submit form there and get all information about EPF Balance. This procedure normally takes 1 month. You can check your EPF Balance below:

Your claim forms are still not submitted to RPFC. Ask your ex-employer. No one can help you anything until your EPF Withdrawal Forms are submitted to concerned PF Office.

I was working in Andra Pradesh/HYD, My old PF number is as AP/HYD/35604/2548 and I left this company in Oct 2008. I guess it is inactive now.
I joined another company in Oct 2008 and they opened a new PF account for me. MH/KND/43209/1563
I want the old PF amount to be transferred to the new one.
What is to be done for this? Can I do something online? Or I need to deal with physical forms? if yes which form to submit? where do I get that? and where do I submit and how? As I currently reside in Mumbai. Please help.

Form-13 is used for offline Transfer of Provident Fund.
For Online Transfer, first check your eligibility at Online Transfer Claim Portal (OTCP).
Than you must register an account at Members Site. Once your account is registered then you can apply for online transfer of account OTCP Portal.

I was able to submit the claim and my previous employer approved it. I can see the approved PDF as well. I got an message as well stating my claim is approved.
What next? Who is supposed to do what? Will the amount would get transferred automatically to my new account? I checked the approved pdf, not sure whether it is digitally signed or not. I see provision for my sign and the previous employer sign on that pdf. Do I need to take a print of it and again send it to previous employer? Is there a need of submitting the same to previous employer PF office? if yes who would do that? and how much time it would take? Is there any provision of tracking the progress beyond this stage?
Any other suggestions? thoughts? or guidelines for me to speed up the activity?
Also, should I expect the interest (with what rate?) till what date if I have left the company in oct-2008 and since then the account was inactive.
You have to do nothing now. Everything will be done automatically. After few days you can track claim at https://epf-india.co.in/epf-status/
Inactive accounts get interest only upto 3 years.

I rejoin the same company and by mistake company deposit my PF in the same old account that was settled. Now I left the company again after 6 months and go to withdraw the PF. then they are telling me that your account is settled. Please help me what to do ?
Establishment has to allot you new number and send revise returns (Form 3A/6A or 7PS/8PS) to PF Office accordingly. Only after that your account can be settled now.
My PF a/c is UP/43255/24100. I worked in Sahara Prime City Ltd almost 12 yrs since 2001 to 2013. I have withdrawn two times my EPF approx. 2.5 Lacs. As you have already withdraw the amount, nothing can be checked online. Ask someone in relation with an authority letter to visit concerned RPFC.

It is very old account and that time PF Accounts wasn’t online. Still not fully online. So visit Gurgaon office and check if they have got any transfer in.

First of all who is your PF Officer? There is no such post in PF Office.
Have you checked your claim status online? Do you have acknowledgement of your claim forms submission at RPFC?
Just filling the forms doesn’t complete the procedure. You have to submit claim forms also. And I am 100% sure that you don’t have any acknowledgement.

You can not be helped online. Visit concerned RPFC and only they can help you. You can download this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wPFEstablishmentInfo to know your establishment code by his name. After knowing the code you can know concerned PF Office to visit.
